Al of us are really tired today!!!
Cause we only reached back Wuchang around 11.10pm and our lecture today started
at 8.30am. It’s our first Chinese culture lecture today. Our lecturer, Caroline, taught us about the
history of both Hubei and Wuhan. Here are some basic facts that I learnt today:
11.
Hubei is known as the Province of a
Thousand Lakes as it has a large number of lakes
22.
Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei
33.
Wuhan is known as River City
44.
Wuhan has a population of 9 million
55.
Wuhan comprimises of Wuchang, Hankou
& Hanyang
66.
Hubei is rich in agricultutrre,
fishery, forestry and hydropower resources
77.
Hubei’s main industries are iron,
steel, power & automobiles
88.
Wuhan is the largest city in Central
China
99.
Hubei is home to many famous
important people such as Qu Yuan, the first greatest patriotic poet, Zhuge
Liang, a famous politician and strategist and Wang Zhaojun, one of the four
beauties in Chinese ancient history.
The list goes on but I don’t think I’d
be able to post all of it. Both Wuhan and Hubei are home to many of Chinese
ancient history. It is known as the birthplace of the Chu culture and also
known for freshwater fish. The Chinese culture lecture today gave me an insight
of Wuhan and Hubei’s history and culture.
So for lunch, we decided to try out
some local snacks from the library canteen. I bought a pork sausage wrapped in
bread and in the brad was a spicy, curry-like radish. It was nice but not so
filling so I bought mixed rice for lunch. Later at night my teammates; Tricia,
Nazhifah, Irfanah and Rachel and myself started discussing about our forensic science
project. We have to come up with a crime scene for another group to solve it.
We were all quite excited to come up with ideas for our crime scene. For
dinner, I decided to have fast food. The China KFC it was again!!! Shrimp
burger, fries and pepsi.
